Echobound

A third-person action RPG where fire, water and lightning follow real rules and so do the monsters.

Playable slice

A vertical slice built in Godot 4.3 for the browser, phones included.

The Echobound title screen: a night sky with a glowing aurora line over dark hills, and buttons for New Journey, Options, How to play and About.

The problem or experience

In most games, elements are scripted. In Hollowmere, fire spreads with the wind through dry grass, water douses, conducts and freezes, and lightning races through everything wet.

Who it's for

Action RPG players who like systems that interact, and Godot developers.

My contribution

It is my project. The README says every mesh, texture, sound and music layer is generated by the project's own code.

What works today

  • A 240 m handcrafted biome with a plateau arena, a cavern and a lake, per the README.
  • Keyboard, gamepad or touch controls.

Limitations

  • I checked that the title screen loads, not the gameplay.
  • It is a slice, not a full game.
